How can I sync my products between WooCommerce and Mercado Libre?: Woomelly – The official plugin that connects WooCommerce with Mercado Libre
Woomelly is the #1 native plugin for WordPress environment that allows connecting and syncing WooCommerce stores with Mercado Libre or Mercado Shops accounts. It only needs to be installed and activated directly from the WordPress panel and start replicating all simple or variable products as Mercado Libre publications with or without variants through a direct channel.
Since 2019, the Woomelly plugin has helped hundreds of clients across Latin America to connect and keep their WooCommerce online stores synced with the number one marketplace in the region, Mercado Libre. Woomelly is one of the main tools that the company IMMAGIT has, which allows you to connect and sync from WooCommerce to Mercado Libre and vice versa. Additionally, it features a series of additional modules that give you full control over your account on this platform.
It is important to note that Woomelly works for any Mercado Libre (or Mercado Shops) account, regardless of the country. And at the moment it is only compatible with e-commerce designed in the WordPress and WooCommerce environment. 8 Steps to Sync from WooCommerce to Mercado Libre
By just following these eight (8) simple steps, you will be able to utilize the functionalities of the Woomelly plugin and thus sync from a WooCommerce store to Mercado Libre successfully:
1. Install the Woomelly plugin for WordPress on a WooCommerce store
The Woomelly plugin is like any other native plugin for WordPress. To utilize its functionalities, it only needs to be installed manually using the store’s plugin management or through a file manager (Example: FTP). In our official documentation, you can find step by step how to do it. And if you don’t have much knowledge about how a WordPress plugin works, we recommend reading our article about plugins and templates in WordPress.
2. Authorize the WooCommerce store with the Mercado Libre account
For a user to have full access to the data from Mercado Libre publications, they must be the seller owner of that publication. In other words, who created that publication on the Mercado Libre platform. To carry out this process, it is only necessary to link the WooCommerce store with the Mercado Libre account. To follow these simple steps, we share our official documentation: Authorization of WooCommerce with Mercado Libre. It is very important that when doing the process, you have access to an account with an administrator profile on Mercado Libre.
3. Set up configuration rules to sync from WooCommerce to Mercado Libre
The Woomelly plugin allows setting some general configuration rules when syncing WooCommerce products as Mercado Libre publications. Among them we can highlight:
- Custom template for the description of all publications.
- Filter products to sync by WooCommerce categories or attributes.
- Set up the sales channel for synchronization (Mercado Libre, Mercado Shops, or both).
- Define the official Mercado Libre store in case you have one or several of them.
- Set a price variation or type of price (original or WooCommerce offer price).
- Reduce stock upon receiving a sale on Mercado Libre or in WooCommerce.
And many other options. This step is not mandatory, but it is highly recommended before starting to synchronize from WooCommerce to Mercado Libre. The seller is responsible for setting the rules that the tool will follow when synchronizing the listings to the WooCommerce store. This setting is established in the advanced settings section of the Woomelly plugin. Our official documentation details each of the fields available in the Woomelly plugin.
4. Assigning a connection template to products
The Woomelly plugin has structures known as connection templates. These templates contain the information about the Mercado Libre categories that will be used in each of the listings to be exported to this marketplace. Remember, not all the fields required by Mercado Libre are defaulted in WooCommerce. Therefore, it is necessary to add this information required by Mercado Libre in these connection templates and then associate these templates with the product or products you wish to synchronize.
It is mandatory that the product has a connection template to be able to synchronize with Mercado Libre. Each of the fields in the Connection Templates in Woomelly for WordPress is detailed in this article.
It is important to note that there is an automatic categorizer in the Woomelly plugin, which takes the characteristics of the already loaded WooCommerce products (store title or custom title), sends them to Mercado Libre and Mercado Libre returns the category it considers appropriate for that product within the marketplace.
Also, you can manually create connection templates by selecting the Mercado Libre categories that the seller considers correct for listing their products. To learn more about how this process works, check out our official documentation.
5. Assigning variations or information from the technical specifications
In certain categories of Mercado Libre, certain additional information is required. Among this information, the attributes or datasheets of the publications and variants stand out. For the datasheet case, the Woomelly plugin allows you to load this information only from the WooCommerce product detail, in a tab called WM Technical Specifications. These fields will vary depending on the Mercado Libre category (set in the connection template) assigned to the product.
For the variants, the WooCommerce product must be variable to be able to relate the WooCommerce variations as Mercado Libre variations. This relationship can be established from the detail of each WooCommerce variation or directly from the connection template. Each of the fields is detailed in this article: Relating WooCommerce attributes with Mercado Libre in Woomelly.
IMPORTANT: If the Mercado Libre category requires a size guide to be able to post, you must add this information and additionally add the size guide in the product detail, WM Technical Specifications tab.
6. Woomelly’s multiple products
If you have variable products that require their price to be maintained and not generalized as is mandatory on Mercado Libre, the Woomelly plugin has a solution: multiple products. This alternative allows you to create listings on Mercado Libre for each variation of the variable WooCommerce product, allowing you to maintain different prices and common information. Each of the fields is detailed in this article: Multiple Products in Woomelly for WordPress.
7. Synchronize from WooCommerce to Mercado Libre massively
Once all the settings have been established, it is time to synchronize all WooCommerce products as Mercado Libre listings massively. It is important to note that the duration will depend on the resources of the web server where the store is hosted. And simple listings or listings with variants will be created depending on the configuration that has been previously set.
Each product will always be associated with a Woomelly connection template. This is because it is in this resource where the business rules and Mercado Libre category are stored. Remember that there are different types of synchronization, for more details: Synchronization from WooCommerce to Mercado Libre.
8. Activate automatic synchronizations
Once all WooCommerce products (or all products that meet the previously established synchronization parameters) have been synchronized, it is time to activate automatic synchronizations.
This type of synchronization will keep both sales channels up-to-date. IMPORTANT: By default, the reduction of stock given a sale is done by default, whether or not this synchronization is active. And since it is a background process, it will run automatically, always without the need for the administrator to be updating manually.
It is advisable to define intervals of 20 items every 3 minutes. For more details: Automatic Synchronization of the Woomelly plugin for WordPress.
Additional Plus: additional modules of the Woomelly plugin
