Since 2019, the Woomelly plugin has helped hundreds of customers throughout Latin America connect and keep their WooCommerce online stores synced with the number one marketplace in the region, Mercado Libre. Woomelly is one of the main tools offered by the company IMMAGIT, which allows you to connect and sync from Mercado Libre to WooCommerce and vice versa. Additionally, it includes a series of additional modules that give you total control over your account on this platform.
It’s important to note that Woomelly works for any Mercado Libre (or Mercado Shops) account, regardless of the country. 5 Steps to Sync from Mercado Libre to WooCommerce
Next, we will detail just five (5) simple steps you need to take to access the functionalities of the Woomelly plugin and sync from Mercado Libre to WooCommerce correctly:
1. Install the Woomelly Plugin for WordPress on a WooCommerce Store
The Woomelly plugin is like any other native plugin for WordPress. To access its functionalities, it only needs to be installed manually using the store’s plugin management or through some file manager (e.g., FTP). In our official documentation, you can find the step-by-step guide to do this. If you’re not very familiar with how a WordPress plugin works, we recommend reading our article about plugins and templates in WordPress.
2. Authorize the Mercado Libre Account with the WooCommerce Store
For a user to have full access to Mercado Libre listing data, they have to be the seller who owns that listing. That is, the person who created that listing on the Mercado Libre platform. To carry out this process, you only need to link the Mercado Libre account with the WooCommerce store. To follow these simple steps, we share our official documentation: WooCommerce Authorization with Mercado Libre. It’s very important that when carrying out the process, you have access to an account with an administrator profile on Mercado Libre.
3. Set Configuration Rules to Sync from Mercado Libre to WooCommerce
The Woomelly plugin allows you to set some configuration rules when importing Mercado Libre listings as WooCommerce products. Among them, we can highlight:
- Replicate Mercado Libre categories as WooCommerce categories.
- Replicate Mercado Libre spec sheets as WooCommerce attributes.
- Set out-of-stock products for paused or finished listings.
- Replicate dimensions and weights (by default) from Mercado Libre listings in WooCommerce products.
- Assign a price variation in general or by categories if necessary.
- Filter by premium listings, classic ones, with Mercado Envíos Full, by Mercado Libre category type, omit specific listings, among many other options.
- Reduce stock when receiving a sale on Mercado Libre or WooCommerce.
Among many other options. This step is not mandatory for the Woomelly plugin to work, but it’s highly recommended before starting to sync from Mercado Libre to WooCommerce. Since the seller is responsible for setting the rules that the tool will follow when syncing the listings to the WooCommerce store. This configuration is set in the advanced settings section of the Woomelly plugin. Each of the fields is detailed in our official documentation.

4. Bulk Sync from Mercado Libre to WooCommerce
Once the import configuration has been set, it’s time to bulk sync all Mercado Libre listings as WooCommerce products. It’s important to note that the duration will depend on the resources of the web server where the store is hosted. Simple products will be created for listings without variations, and variable products for listings with variations.
Each product will automatically be associated with a Woomelly connection template. This is because that’s where the business rules and Mercado Libre category are stored. Remember that there are different types of syncing, for more details: Syncing from Mercado Libre to WooCommerce.
5. Activate Automatic Syncing
Once all Mercado Libre listings (or all listings that meet the previously established syncing parameters) have been synced, it’s time to activate automatic syncing.
This type of syncing will keep both sales channels updated. IMPORTANT: By default, stock reduction given a sale is done by default, whether or not this syncing is active. And since it’s a background process, it will run automatically, always without the need for the administrator to manually update.
It’s advisable to set intervals of 20 items every 3 minutes. For more details: Automatic Syncing of the Woomelly plugin for WordPress.
