Advanced Settings in Woomelly for WordPress

In this article, we are pleased to introduce you to all the fields located in the Advanced Settings section of Woomelly for WordPress. These fields give you the ability to configure synchronizations between WooCommerce and Mercado Libre. It is essential to note that to fully utilize these settings, your WooCommerce store must be duly authorized with your Mercado Libre account. If you have not yet completed this process, we recommend checking our article on WooCommerce Authorization with Mercado Libre.

The advanced settings in Woomelly allow you to customize data synchronization between your WooCommerce products and Mercado Libre listings according to your specific needs. It’s important to ensure you verify and correctly set these configurations after authorizing your store with Mercado Libre.

It should be noted that you can only set one type of synchronization on the site automatically. That is, from an automatic synchronization from WooCommerce to Mercado Libre or from Mercado Libre to WooCommerce. However, you can manually use both synchronizations. Therefore, it’s advisable to omit data from items you don’t want to be overwritten in synchronizations.

Authorization with Mercado Libre

In this section, you can see whether the WooCommerce store is connected to the Mercado Libre account. A quick way to verify this connection is a red button that allows you to unlink the store. Otherwise, a blue button will appear, indicating that you should proceed to authorize your WooCommerce store with Mercado Libre following the steps that support sent to your email. Learn more.

Advanced Settings in Woomelly for WordPress: SYNC. WOO > MELI

In this section, you can set up the configuration if you need to export WooCommerce product data to Mercado Libre. And you can configure the following fields:

» Mercado Libre Currency

In this field, you can set the currency for Mercado Libre listing prices. This field only applies to Mercado Libre and does not consider the currency set in the WooCommerce store. Mercado Libre only allows listings in local currency since its payment gateways are local (Mercado Pago). However, in some countries, listing in US dollars as an additional currency is allowed.

If you have a store that handles multiple currencies, it’s crucial to check this information: Compatibility with third-party plugins in Woomelly for WordPress.

» Mercado Libre Description Template

This field offers the chance to organize the content of your Mercado Libre descriptions using dynamic tags to display specific product information.

Mercado Libre Plantilla de Descripción

It is beneficial if you want to place general information like frequently asked questions, warranty type, sales information, among others (learn more). You have tags to place dynamic information from your WooCommerce products. That is, during the WooCommerce to Mercado Libre synchronization, these tags will be replaced by the specific information of each product and placed in the Mercado Libre listing description.

TAGSFUNCTIONALITY
{product_name}Equivalent to the WooCommerce product title.
{product_description}Equivalent to the general description of the WooCommerce product (and custom Woomelly description).
{product_short_description}Equivalent to the short description of the WooCommerce product.
{product_sku}Equivalent to the inventory storage unit (SKU).
{product_warranty}Equivalent to the product warranty set in its details (this field is explained further below, but it is set in this section).
{product_categories}Equivalent to the WooCommerce categories associated with the product separated by commas (do not confuse with Mercado Libre categories).
{product_tags}Equivalent to the WooCommerce tags associated with the product separated by commas.
{product_attributes}Equivalent to the WooCommerce product attributes (do not confuse with Mercado Libre technical specs).
{product_variations}Equivalent to the variations of the WooCommerce variable product (do not confuse with Mercado Libre variations).
{product_dimensions}Equivalent to the dimensions of the WooCommerce product set in its details.
{category_description}Equivalent to the category description set in the connection template.
{all_my_publications}Equivalent to the URL that refers to listings by the seller (check with Mercado Libre support before adding massively).

It’s essential to point out that the default long description is assumed as the general product description. If you need to set a custom plain text description only for Mercado Libre, it should be set in the product detail (WMDetails Tab).

» Sync products by WooCommerce category or attribute

In these fields, you can set the identifiers (IDs) of the WooCommerce categories or attributes that will only be considered for synchronization from WooCommerce to Mercado Libre. For example: you can create a WooCommerce category/attribute called “Mercado Libre” and take its ID (from the WooCommerce categories/attributes) to place in these fields. This way, only WooCommerce products with that assigned WooCommerce category/attribute will be considered in the synchronizations from WooCommerce to Mercado Libre.

» Omit products in synchronization by WooCommerce category or attribute

In these fields, you can set the identifiers (IDs) of the WooCommerce categories or attributes you want to omit in the synchronization. For example: you can create a WooCommerce category/attribute called “Mercado Libre.” Take its ID (from the WooCommerce categories/attributes) to place in these fields. This way, only WooCommerce products with that assigned WooCommerce category/attribute will not be considered in the synchronizations from WooCommerce to Mercado Libre.

» WooCommerce CDN Images

This is an advanced field and is only used for very specific cases. Here you enter the URL of the fixed CDN (in case it’s active in the WooCommerce store), and this affects the URLs of the images. Not all SSL protocols are accepted by Mercado Libre to publish the images. That’s why there’s a field to set a fixed CDN to synchronize images without issues using the Woomelly plugin. It’s important to note that this CDN must be fixed and not dynamic. By default, we are compatible with Jetpack and its dynamic CDN for optimizing images.

 IMPORTANT
The WooCommerce CDN Images field is used only if you have issues when transferring your WooCommerce images to Mercado Libre, and before using it, contact support. Otherwise, it can remain empty.

» WooCommerce Title Limit

Do you have many products whose name exceeds the 60-character limit allowed by Mercado Libre for publication? This field allows you to limit those titles to 60 characters automatically and applies only to Mercado Libre. It’s not an optimal solution, as once a publication has at least 1 sale, you cannot modify the title again. So use it only when you really deem it necessary. For example:

If you have a title similar to this: Roku Express + Full Hd Black Turn your TV into a smart TV now!

When synchronized, it appears on Mercado Libre as: Roku Express + Full Hd Black Turn your TV into smart.

Remember that Mercado Libre does not allow publications with titles longer than 60 characters. Therefore, it’s advisable to activate this field only if you have a large number of products with titles over 60 characters. You can read our article 11 common mistakes when naming a product and how to avoid them for more details.

» Mercado Libre General Warranty

This field is used to place a warranty in plain text, in the publication description. Each WooCommerce product has a custom Woomelly field that allows you to load a warranty in plain text, which represents the {product_warranty} tag in the description template. This warranty can only be used for informational purposes, as Mercado Libre already has a field to set this information.

» Mercado Libre General Video URL

Want to add a general YouTube video to all your Mercado Libre publications? With this field, you can. Currently, Mercado Libre only allows adding a YouTube video URL. Do not confuse with the Mercado Libre Videos section.

» Sales Channel (Mercado Libre or Mercado Shops)

If you have an active store in Mercado Shops linked to your Mercado Libre account, you can set the sales channel for synchronization by specifying a value in this field. You can publish directly to Mercado Libre, directly to Mercado Shops, or on both sales channels. Keep in mind that for the latter option, the Mercado Shops store must be previously activated in the Mercado Libre account.

» Omit fields in synchronizations (especially in updates)

Here you can omit the fields you wish in the synchronization from WooCommerce to Mercado Libre. Almost all fields are used to omit only when updating publications as long as they are active. Since if the products have not been published on Mercado Libre, they will first be published with all the information and then those data that are being omitted in these fields will be omitted.

  • Omit product title (only when updating).
  • Omit product description (only when updating). Recommended to optimize performance.
  • Omit product price (only when updating).
  • Omit product stock (only when updating).
  • Omit product images (only when updating). Recommended to optimize performance.
  • Omit featured image in variations (when creating and updating).
  • Omit image gallery (only when updating).
  • Omit product SKU (only when updating).
  • Omit product variations (only when updating). NOT RECOMMENDED, affects price and stock.
  • Omit product technical specifications (only when updating).
  • Omit type of product publication (only when updating).
  • Omit product shipping (only when updating). Recommended to optimize performance.
  • Omit product location (only when updating). Recommended to optimize performance.
  • Omit product status (Mercado Libre) (only when updating). NOT RECOMMENDED, affects pausing publications on Mercado Libre if you run out of stock in WooCommerce.

 IMPORTANT
It’s recommended to omit images when updating publications. This is because often Mercado Libre servers take time to process this information, and there might be times when images are no longer displayed on Mercado Libre due to data update issues. Additionally, it improves performance in these types of synchronizations.

Advanced Settings in Woomelly for WordPress: SYNC. MELI > WOO

In this section, you can set the configuration in case you need to import Mercado Libre publications as WooCommerce products. These fields are available:

» Scope of synchronization

In this field, you define whether, when importing your publications, you should only create products in WooCommerce or only update data from existing products or create new products and update existing products.

Create onlyIn synchronizations, WooCommerce products will be created with the data of the publications that are not related (previously synchronized or manually linked) and the data of existing and linked products will not be updated.
Update Only
During syncs, only those publications that have related WooCommerce products (previously synchronized or manually linked) will be updated. With this option, new WooCommerce products are not created.
Create and Update (recommended)In syncs, Mercado Libre publications will be created and updated depending on whether they have previously associated WooCommerce products. If not, those products will be created and then kept up to date.

Alcance de la sincronización

» Import Paused Mercado Libre Listings

This field establishes the behavior that WooCommerce products related to paused listings on Mercado Libre should have. It’s important to note that WooCommerce does not have a “paused” status. The equivalent applied by the Woomelly plugin is “out of stock/no stock available”. If you want to know more about the status of Mercado Libre listings, we recommend this article.

Create and Update ProductsThis indicates that if a WooCommerce product does not exist, it should be created in the store as out of stock. And if it does exist, update its status to out of stock.
Update Products Only (recommended)This indicates that if a WooCommerce product does not exist, do not create it as out of stock (i.e., skip it). And if it does exist, update its status to out of stock.
Omit Products or Send to Store TrashThis indicates that if a WooCommerce product does not exist, do not create it as out of stock (i.e., skip it). And if it does exist, send it to the WooCommerce store trash.

» Import Finished Mercado Libre Listings

This field establishes the behavior that WooCommerce products related to finished listings on Mercado Libre should have. It’s important to remember that this “ended” status means that this listing cannot be recovered, or at least not with the same listing code. Also, WooCommerce does not have an “ended” status. The equivalent applied by the tool is “out of stock/no stock available” or “sent to trash”. If you want to know more about the status of Mercado Libre listings, we recommend this article.

Create and Update ProductsThis indicates that if a WooCommerce product does not exist, it should be created in the store as out of stock and if it does exist, update its status to out of stock.
Update Products OnlyThis indicates that if a WooCommerce product does not exist, do not create it as out of stock (i.e., skip it) and if it does exist, update its status to out of stock.
Omit Products or Send to Store TrashThis indicates that if a WooCommerce product does not exist, do not create it as out of stock (i.e., skip it) and if it does exist, send it to the WooCommerce store trash.

» Sync by Listing Filter

In this field, you can set a filter with specific data from the listings. For example: listings with sales, listings with Full Mercado Shipping, premium listings, classic listings, among many other options.

» Sync Listings by Category (Mercado Libre)

In this field, you can filter the listings by a specific Mercado Libre category. Remember to always select the last level of the Mercado Libre category listing.

» Sync by Listing Code

Do you want to sync specific listings only? In this field, you can set this configuration. Simply set the listing codes separated by commas. In this field, you can import only specific listings by entering the complete listing code (without dashes). For example: MLB123456789. It is important that after you import such a listing you delete that code because if you activate automatic syncs it will only always import that specific listing.

 IMPORTANT
Clone Mercado Libre listings in WooCommerce: This field can be used to import listings from other users in your WooCommerce store and even later transfer it to your Mercado Libre account. For more information, we recommend our article on How to transfer Mercado Libre listings between accounts?.

» Omit Listings by Listing Code

Do you want to skip certain listings when syncing? In this field, you can set this configuration. Just set the listing codes you want to skip, separated by commas. You should also use the listing code without the dash. For example: MLB123456789.

» Import Mercado Libre Categories as WooCommerce Categories

In this field, you can indicate whether you want to replicate Mercado Libre categories as WooCommerce categories and assign the created products to those categories. It offers both the complete category (the full path) of the Mercado Libre listing as well as only the specific category where the listing is assigned. As well as only creating or creating and updating in each sync.

If no option is selected, the products will be assigned to the default WooCommerce category. This configuration does not affect the syncs since the Mercado Libre configuration is stored in the connection template. In general, it is recommended not to sync the Mercado Libre categories as store categories in WooCommerce to avoid categorization errors.

 IMPORTANT
It might not necessarily appear exactly as it does on Mercado Libre. This is because Mercado Libre is structuring its categories so that subcategories are part of their internal attributes. For example: “Clothing Item > Blouses > Woman > WM”. The category might only be “Clothing Item > Blouses”, and “Woman” + “WM” are Mercado Libre’s internal attributes.

Importar categorías de Mercado Libre como categorías de WooCommerce

» Import Mercado Libre dimensions as WooCommerce dimensions

Do you want to replicate the dimensions of Mercado Libre as dimensions of WooCommerce? In this field, you can set this configuration. The listings have default dimensions assigned to their categories to calculate the shipping cost (Mercado Envío). Dimensions are rarely directly assigned to their listings by the seller. In general, it’s recommended not to sync Mercado Libre’s dimensions as your WooCommerce store dimensions.

What this field allows is that when you create your products in WooCommerce, they contain the information of those dimensions, which can be useful if you use shipping plugins in your WooCommerce store. These dimensions are expressed in grams (g) and centimeters (cm) and will be adjusted depending on how you have these data set up in your WooCommerce store.

If you’ve imported this information (the dimensions) and wish to reset the dimensions of your WooCommerce products, you can do it from the product list. By selecting the “Remove shipping dimensions” option.

Importar dimensiones de Mercado Libre como dimensiones de WooCommerce

» Import Mercado Libre attributes (Technical Specifications) as WooCommerce attributes

Do you want to replicate Mercado Libre’s technical specifications as WooCommerce attributes? In this field, you can set this configuration. This field allows you to replicate Mercado Libre’s technical specifications as attributes in your WooCommerce products. In this case, it is recommended to import the data from Mercado Libre’s technical specifications, as WooCommerce attributes are often used by other plugins to filter your products in your store. An identical replica is not guaranteed since WordPress only allows a finite number of characters, and some attributes may exceed this amount.

» Import Mercado Libre description as WooCommerce description

Where do you want to replicate the description of your Mercado Libre listings? In this field, you can set this configuration and choose whether the listing’s description is loaded in the long description, short description, or custom description (Woomelly field) of the WooCommerce product. When “overwrite other descriptions” is indicated, it means it allows deleting descriptions in other fields, ensuring only the most recently imported description remains in the configured field. We recommend our article on Duplicate Product Descriptions and My Store’s SEO.

Importar descripción de Mercado Libre como descripción de WooCommerce

» Import Mercado Libre images as WooCommerce images

Where do you want to replicate the images of your Mercado Libre listings? In this field, you can set this configuration. Here you can select if you want the images from the listings to be replicated in the WooCommerce store or only placed in Woomelly’s custom fields. This is handy if you want to maintain different images between your WooCommerce store and your Mercado Libre listings.

By default, listings have assigned images that are optimized and don’t always have the best resolution. This field allows always importing the highest quality images for WooCommerce. It’s essential to note that this might make the synchronization process take longer and occupy more space in your WooCommerce store.

» Import selected images from Mercado Libre as WooCommerce images

Do you only want to replicate specific images from Mercado Libre to WooCommerce? In this field, you can set this configuration. You can filter which image from Mercado Libre’s gallery you want to replicate in WooCommerce.

Importar imágenes seleccionadas de Mercado Libre como imágenes de WooCommerce

To import only the main image, you must set this configuration:

Importar imágenes seleccionadas de Mercado Libre como imágenes de WooCommerce2

If you select a setting from 1 to 3, it means that only 3 images from the listing (the first 3 images) will be imported. If a setting from 1 to -3 is selected, it means that 3 images will always be discarded at the end of the listing.

» Omit fields in synchronizations (especially during updates)

You can skip the fields of data you don’t want to update in the WooCommerce products during synchronizations from Mercado Libre. These usually only apply when updating the data in those synchronizations.

  • Omit listing title (Only when updating).
  • Omit listing description (Only when updating). Recommended to optimize performance.
  • Omit listing price (Only when updating).
  • Omit listing stock (Only when updating).
  • Omit listing images (Only when updating). Recommended to optimize performance.
  • Omit listing SKU (Only when updating).
  • Omit listing variations (Only when updating). NOT RECOMMENDED as it affects price and stock.
  • Omit listing technical specifications (Only when updating).
  • Omit listing shipping (Only when updating). Recommended to optimize performance.
  • Omit listing location (Only when updating). Recommended to optimize performance.
  • Omit other listing fields (Only when updating).

 IMPORTANT
It’s advisable to omit images when synchronizing from Mercado Libre to WooCommerce. This is to improve synchronization performance, since the process involves removing and replicating each image from the listings being synchronized. Another commonly used option is to omit sending technical specifications to prevent overwriting this data in WooCommerce to Mercado Libre synchronizations.

Advanced Settings in Woomelly for WordPress: General SYNC

In this section, you can modify the settings that apply in general for synchronizations from WooCommerce to Mercado Libre and vice versa for all products. Below are the existing fields:

» Customize listing title

In this field, you can add a suffix or prefix to the titles of the listings, using the WooCommerce product title as a base. It’s important to always include the {name} tag as it represents the dynamic title of your WooCommerce products (either customized or the default title). This field neither replaces nor overwrites the product title. It’s only used if the seller wants to include additional words (suffix or prefix) in all listings. For example:

If you set: {name} Woomelly Store, you could get this result: Roku Express, Full Hd Black Woomelly Store. Assuming the product name is Roku Express, Full Hd Black. Exercise caution because Mercado Libre only allows 60 characters in this field, and the goal is to optimize every possible character.

» Official Mercado Libre Store

Do you have a Mercado Libre account with official stores? You can set the official Mercado Libre store in this field. If you have an official store on Mercado Libre, you should select the store where you want to post your listings. Currently, you can’t post the same product to multiple official stores since for Mercado Libre they are two (2) different listings. If this applies to you, please write to support for more details. We recommend our article on official stores on Mercado Libre.

» Reduce inventory by sale on WooCommerce

This field is used to reduce in real-time the inventory of a previously connected listing with a WooCommerce store product when managing a sale from your WooCommerce store. “Real-time” means it doesn’t require manual or automatic synchronizations to update but is an additional process (though also updated during synchronizations).

» Reduce inventory by sale on Mercado Libre

Very similar to the previous field, but applies inversely. That is, in this case, the inventory in WooCommerce is deducted when managing a sale from Mercado Libre, and no synchronization is required. The change is immediate. Remember, if you have the Woomelly sales module active, you should activate this functionality from that module’s settings.

» Reduce inventory by sale with Mercado Envíos Full

Mercado Envíos Full inventory is managed directly by Mercado Libre. When an order is placed, the WooCommerce store’s stock should not be reduced since it physically doesn’t exist outside of Mercado Libre. In this field, you can decide whether or not to reduce stock in these cases. If you want to know more about Mercado Envíos Full, we recommend this article: What no one told you about Mercado Envíos Full.

» Mercado Envíos available in the seller’s account

In this section, the Woomelly plugin checks what type of logistics is active in the associated Mercado Libre account (whether it has Mercado Envíos Flex and/or Mercado Envíos Full -fulfillment-). No action is needed. It’s an automatic and informative process.

» Total views on listings

When this field is active, the number of views a listing has is updated with each synchronization. It’s worth noting that this represents the total views recorded for that listing.

» Price variation

Do you want to apply a price variation with each synchronization? In this field, you can adjust your WooCommerce prices so they reflect on your Mercado Libre listings. This field is used for both WooCommerce to Mercado Libre and vice versa synchronizations. Remember, you can also set a customized price directly in the product that only affects Mercado Libre listings. If you have a store that deals with multiple currencies, it’s important to consult this information: Compatibility with third-party plugins in Woomelly for WordPress.

For example: If you want to increase all prices by 20% only on Mercado Libre:

Variación de precio

» WooCommerce price type

In this field, you can define the type of price (base or offer) that will be taken into account in the products/listings when synchronizing. We call base price or regular price the original price of the WooCommerce product without any discount. That means even if there’s a promotion in the store, only the original price is shown (without that discount). On the other hand, we define sale price as the price at which the WooCommerce product is being sold (with or without a discount).

Very popular if you want to have discounts only on one of the sales channels (base price) or if you want both channels to have the same price (with or without discount). Recently, a new functionality called sale price (active offer in WooCommerce) was added that only applies for Mercado Libre to WooCommerce synchronizations and allows replicating the sale price of listings and setting it as an offer in WooCommerce.

WooCommerce tipo de precio

WooCommerce tipo de precio

» Synchronization notification

In this field, you can set follow-up emails for the Woomelly plugin. For now, an email will be sent to you with the summary of the automatic synchronization or once the massive synchronization is finished. Multiple emails can be added by separating them with a comma.

» Additional Images

Additional images can be included besides the WooCommerce product images (default or custom) on Mercado Libre. This is commonly used to provide specific information in your listings. It’s important to be careful with the information you place here and Mercado Libre’s listing policies if you are syncing from WooCommerce to Mercado Libre.

Advanced Settings in Woomelly for WordPress: Security

In this section, you can configure some security settings of the Woomelly plugin. It includes the following fields:

» Upgrade Code

Enter the update code that was sent to you by email at the time of your purchase so that you can update the plugin from the WooCommerce plugin list.

» General Sync Type

This field is used to define a single type of synchronization that will be used in the WooCommerce store. In this way, manual sync mistakes can be avoided since if the site is only going to have active the sync from Mercado Libre to WooCommerce, there’s no need to have active the option of syncing from WooCommerce to Mercado Libre.

IMPORTANT: This setting does not affect the functionality of reducing stock based on the origin of the sale or pausing sold-out listings. To deactivate or activate this option, you must do it from the general sync section.

» Internal Processes with WP Cron or Action Scheduler?

This option allows you to decide if the internal scheduled tasks of the Woomelly plugin run with the WordPress Cron or the Action Scheduler of WordPress.

Do you want to unlink the Mercado Libre account from the WooCommerce store when uninstalling the plugin? In this field, you can set this configuration.

» Block access to Woomelly

This field allows to block or not the access to Woomelly with users who have the “store manager” profile. By default, this option is active so that only users with the “administrator” profile can access Woomelly. By deactivating this option, users with the “store manager” profile will also be able to access Woomelly.
