Resetting Woomelly Product Connection for WordPress

In this article, we will discuss how to reset the product connection in Woomelly for WordPress. When a WooCommerce product is synchronized for the first time, either from WooCommerce to Mercado Libre or from Mercado Libre to WooCommerce, the Woomelly plugin considers it a “connected product”. Even if the product later encounters errors, is modified, or sent to the trash, it will remain connected between your WooCommerce store and the linked Mercado Libre account. To remove this connection (only the connection is lost, meaning both the WooCommerce product and the Mercado Libre listing will remain intact), it needs to be reset.

To reset a product individually, simply access the product details and click on the reset button located near the synchronization buttons. Confirm the procedure, and the WooCommerce product will be completely disconnected, while the related Mercado Libre listing remains intact.

In this case, navigate to the WooCommerce product listing and perform a bulk action to reset the selected products. The chosen WooCommerce products will completely lose their connection, but the related Mercado Libre listings will stay intact.

Once you have applied the reset functionality, you can assign a new connection template and synchronize again. The Mercado Libre code will change, as it will represent an entirely new listing.

What’s the difference between resetting and unlinking a product?

When a WooCommerce product is reset, all configurations related to Mercado Libre (such as the technical sheet, identifiers, connection template, sales condition, custom title, among other fields) are lost. In this manner, the WooCommerce product will appear as if it never had a related listing on Mercado Libre.

On the other hand, when unlinking a WooCommerce product, only the code of the assigned Mercado Libre listing and the internal identifiers of that listing are removed. All related settings (like the custom title, sales condition, technical sheet, etc.) will be retained, allowing the product to be synchronized again from WooCommerce to Mercado Libre without any additional configuration.

It’s essential to note that when resetting or unlinking a WooCommerce product, the relationship between that product and the Mercado Libre listing is lost. This means that if synchronized again, the product (Sync. MELI > WOO) or the listing (Sync. WOO > MELI) will be duplicated since there’s no connection between the items. At no point is the Mercado Libre listing or the WooCommerce product deleted; only the link between them is removed.

 RECOMMENDATION
The option to unlink a product is excellent if you had previously set up a Mercado Libre account and wish to transfer those listings to a new Mercado Libre account without reconfiguring the product. On the other hand, resetting a product is a great choice if you no longer want to maintain a connection between the WooCommerce product and the Mercado Libre listing.
