Steps to connect WooCommerce products with existing Mercado Libre publications

1. Copy the Mercado Libre publication code (without hyphens)

Get this code from the URL of the publication on Mercado Libre.

2. Set the Mercado Libre publication code in the WooCommerce product detail

You can do this from the WooCommerce product detail, in the “WM Details” tab, or directly from the quick or mass edit of the product list in your store. Optionally, you can indicate a connection template previously configured with the same Mercado Libre category. If you don’t, the Woomelly plugin will replicate it automatically.

3. Check if the Mercado Libre publication has variants

The variants appear in the Mercado Libre publication, near the purchase button. It is important to know if the publications have variants or not, as this will require additional configuration in your WooCommerce store.

There are two (2) types of variants: (a) The unique/non-selectable ones and (b) the selectable ones. Non-selectable variants are attributes that Mercado Libre demands for publications, such as color. These are not selected at the time of purchase. On the other hand, selectable variants are variants that the user must select to make the purchase. This usually refers to the Apparel category (size and color). At this step, it should be identified whether they are selectable or non-selectable variants.

4. Configure non-selectable variants

If the publication has non-selectable variants (identified in step 3) and the WooCommerce product is simple, you should load this data in the product detail, in the “WM Technical Data” tab. If you have a variable product, set the relationship from the detail of the variation or from the Woomelly connection template.

And in the case of having a variable product, you should establish the relationship from the detail of the variation or from the Woomelly connection template.

5. Configure selectable variants

In these cases, it is necessary for the WooCommerce product to be variable. You cannot link a publication with selectable variants from Mercado Libre with a simple product. If you have a variable product in your WooCommerce store, set the relationship from the detail of the variation or from the Woomelly connection template.

If the publication on Mercado Libre has sales and requires the internal identifiers of each variation to be assigned to the WooCommerce product variations, you must identify these identifiers and copy them into the variations. You can get these identifiers from “Woomelly » Tools » Publication Data“. Then, copy them into each of the variations of the variable product in WooCommerce so that the link is made correctly.
